Had a great week off!!
Well the week started off great with this beautiful bouquet from the most wonderful man in the world. He sent me flowers on Monday since that is the last day at work before having the week off. Thank you Sean, they are absolutely gorgeous and seem to be getting more beautiful everyday. Then Tuesday ran some errands and ended up back at work for about 3 hours finishing up some paperwork. Then the remainder of the week has been super busy with DIY projects. I am finished up my desk. 2 thrift store bookcases and MDF. I spent 2 days on and off putting 3 coats on this desk o
nly to see that the insides would just peel off…so plan B was contact paper but it would not go on without bubbles…so Plan C was fabric. That ended up working. So now all I have left to do is put on the last bit of molding and I am done. I will take pics when I am done. I also picked up a cedar chest and a dresser at the salvation army, that I will redo as well. This week has also involved us using our newest toys. For our anniversary, Sean and I got bikes. We haven’t riden too much because we found out the seats suck and our butts were killing us! LOL. It has been years since I have riden a bike and I guess when you are a kid you didn’t care how comfortable the seat was…well we do now. Tomorrow, we are going to Chattanooga for our anniversary weekend. Lily is away at Judy and Jim’s house (hopefully she is not driving them nuts) for the weekend. She has had an eventful week with Mommy home. I think we bonded!
No more little Lily’s
So D-day came and went. On Friday 9/4, Lily was spade. She was so pitiful and moped around Friday night and Saturday. She did not eat and puked like 4 times. On Sunday she began to perk up and now she is same old Lily, crazy as ever.
We are trying some new things with her and her training. Soon we are going to start some classes at Petsmart to help with her socialization. This weekend I bought a new collar..a Halti head collar. She does not like it at all but walks like a dream. Earlier tonight, was the best walk we have taken in 10 months. Now what happened when we came back in was a different story. I have held her down at least 8 times..trying to show my dominance. This blog was interrupted 2 times of her trying to bite my feet. I am waiting for her to crash for the night after all the excitement but not happening fast enough. I will keep everyone updated on the new and improved training.
Adventures of Lily
So of course everyone knows we have a crazy dog! Crazy but we love her. Today we went to the vet. As always it was sensory overload and she was the worst behaved dog in the office until we got in the room. She wants to play with everyone and goes nuts, standing up on her hind legs like she is trying to walk. Weight: 49 lbs!!! He looked at her, said she looked great and gave her one of her annual shots. He told us we could now change her to dog food vs. puppy chow. She does have like a dermatitis type thing on her front nails and he told us how to fix that. We also decided to get her spade this next week before Labor Day. We think that will be best for her. There are too many dogs in pounds because people have puppies and then don’t want them. We would love to have cute little puppies but we have no room for more right now! He told us that her recent increased stubbornness and aggressiveness towards me could be that she is coming in heat. Then after the vet, we went to Petsmart to check about training classes. We really need to get her socialized with other dogs and then she will be better. The walk in Petsmart was much better because she was tired, Sean and Lily walked around the store calmly while I filled out the paperwork. It was Lily’s turn. The petite, young girl grabbed the leash and Lily of course pulled her in the direction she was headed and it looked like the girl’s arm would fall of. She said “wow, she is stronger than most boxers I have worked with”! 5 minutes later, the girl returns stating there would be a fee for physical restraint because she was so strong. We declined and decided we would be using the pedi paws sometime this weekend. We then looked at some other things and let Lily pick out a new toy. Of course she smelled of every stuffed animal and then the balls caught her attention. It was hilarious. Just like a kid picking out a new toy. She settled on an orange ball that squeeked of course!! That is her new favorite toy now and has not let it out of her site. So the rest of our day has involved napping and chilling out. Gotta love the weekends!
