Visit to Kingston

Posted by Kendra in Family

Yesterday, on Valentine’s Day, we made a trip up to Kingston to see Kelly, Eric, and Aiden. He has really grown since I last saw him, 3 weeks ago. He is a really great baby and of course gorgeous. Sean and I held him a lot and I got to feed him once. I have found I am an excellent burper!! :) It was adorable to see him with Kelly and Eric. They are going to be awesome parents. They looked super tired but just looked so happy!! I can’t wait till he gets bigger. He is going to be so much fun. I will post pics soon. For now, keep checking bargertrouble.com.

Lily went with us but stayed in the car. She actually traveled very well. No getting sick, she would watch out the window, nap, watch, nap, etc. She loved their house. All the woods, sticks and secluded area. We had a really good trip and Valentine’s day.

Holiday Weekend in D.C.

Posted by Kendra in Uncategorized

November 26, 2008: Sean got home early, around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday and we finished packing and headed to Morristown.  Three and half hours later, we arrived at TN avenue and headed straight for the bed.

dscn0304.jpgNovember 27, 2008: Thanksgiving morning.  We got up early and headed for the photographer’s house to see our official wedding pictures for the first time.  Of course I was excited to see how great they turned out.  Besides eat turkey, that is about all I did was look at the pictures.   We had a wonderful Thanksgiving together with family.  Good food, football, and good company.

November 28, 2008: Up early and off to Clinton, Maryland.  Saturday is Sean’s aunt and uncle’s 25th wedding anniversary.  After 7.5 hours later, we were at Colony South Hotel in Clinton.  It is a very old, southern hotel..very rustic.  The bathroom had a heat lamp, with a timer!!!!  And oh the wallpaper.  But overall besides a room with 2 full beds, it was nice!!  That night we went over to Stanley and Claudia’s house and played spades until the wee hours of the night.  Then off to bed.

November 29, 2008: Up by 8:30 a.m. for a hotel breakfast, then actually back to the room to sleep some dscn0397.jpgmore then up by noon to catch the Shuttle to the Branch Avenue Metro.  We are not the most familiar with the metro, this was an adventure all in itself.  Around one we finally made it to our destination, McPherson Square.  We did about 2 hours of walking…we saw the White House, US Department of the Treasury, Washington Monument, Smithsonian, the Capitol Building…and much more.  See DC Photos.  We actually went into the Smithsonian, but way too crowded and just not enough time.  Before heading back we grabbed a DC hotdog (probably one of the best) and the off to the Metro to meet the hotel shuttle.  We really had a good time in DC, something we have never done.  It will be nice to come back maybe with some more dscn0321.jpgtime, and really see the sites.  When we got back to the hotel, we got cleaned up and ready for the night’s event.  It was very nice and a true showcase of family, friends, and love.  They are a great couple and show how marriage should be…2 best friends that work at it and truly love each other.  Good music, dancing, good food, and fun.  After Sean helped the DJ (from Atl) pack up his stuff it was off to bed.

November 30, 2008: After getting a late start back to TN, we of course hit traffic.  The van was seemingly comfortable the first day, but after about 4 hours on this day, it became horribly uncomfortable.  We really never got the temperature correct and oh the seat belts…they had minds of their own, and I think the goal was to cut off circulation!!!  12 hours later, we were in Morristown and then around 3 a.m. we finally made it back to GA.

Overall we had a great trip and have a lot to be thankful for.  Check out photos for more.

Kelly’s Baby Shower

Posted by Kendra in Family

dscn0018.jpg

On November 15, 2008, I made a trip to Kingston, TN where I went with Kelly to her first baby shower. The girls in her Sunday school class at church were throwing her a shower. It was at one of the girl’s houses in Lenoir City. We had such a nice time. Kelly has a gooddscn0009.jpg group of girl friends…all married…most with kids…who can give her good advice on raising this sweet baby boy. She got lots of goodies…diapers, clothes, diaper geenie, a baby tub/shower, medicines, etc. After the shower we headed back to the house, where we helped Eric put together the final touches on the baby’s room. Kelly is fired up dscn0007.jpgabout getting the room ready ASAP (at least 2 month before the baby comes)!!! I guess that is smart, because then that is one less thing to worry about. She is doing great and of course as adorable as ever. Sean and I can’t wait to be an aunt and uncle to Little Baby Barger….and spoil, spoil, spoil.  Check out more pics under Photos.
