Cartersville Lion’s Club, Seeville’s 10K Vision

Posted by Kendra in Health/Fitness

On April 17th I ran my first (of many I hope) race of 2010.  This was first ever 10K as well.  I had been running again since February and I felt ready to go and see what happens.  That morning I was so nervous, my stomach was hurting.  The most I had ran was 5.5, so I didn’t know how many body would react to the longer distance.  Despite being quite chilly, the morning was a perfect morning for a run, so Sean, Lily and I headed to Dellinger Park at 7 (Read more)

Pine Mtn #2 and recap of week #4

Posted by Kendra in Adventures of Lily, Health/Fitness

Yesterday, Sean, Lily, and I as well as the Knox family + John, went on another hike up Pine Mountain.  This time we went up to the Summit then back around all the Loops except Cooper’s Furnace.  The total hike was probably about 5-6 miles (up and down hill most of the way).  The weather was little cool, and felt awesome..not so hot as last weekend.  The pic above was the wallace family in front of this cool curled up tree we saw.  The highlight of the day was when we got to the top, there was like 30 people up (Read more)

Run Lily, Run

Posted by Kendra in Adventures of Lily, Health/Fitness

Today was so beautiful, I did not want to run on the treadmill inside, so I went home to get Lily and took her to Dellinger.  After the initial overload/spazzing out because of all the baseballs flying, basketballs dribbling, kids screaming and running, and bike wheels turning, we got to the other side of the trail where she calmed down right nicely and just trotted along beside me.  Anyone that knows her, knows she is a social butterfly, but sometimes just too hyper.  She did awesome and stayed right beside me.  She is bad to try to change sides, so we are working on that.  After she realizes she can’t get the HALTI off, she does good.  Then by the time we got back around to all the craziness, she was cool –she was also tired so didn’t phase her as much.  She just needs to run off that energy and she is a different dog.  Proud of my puppy!!!  She is becoming my little running buddy.  I know the more I bring her to places like the park, the more she will get used to it.
