A Great Day!!

It was absolutely beautiful today.  Considering 2 weeks ago there was snow in the ground, this day was much needed.  It felt so good to turn off the heat and open the doors and windows!!  Our day started off early as we headed to the Post Office.  Sean had missed a delivery from them so he was dying to get up and go.  The delivery was his LED lights for his multi touch project.  After waiting in line for like 15 minutes (me and Lily stayed in the car) he got his box.  Then (Read more)

Project finished

Posted by Kendra in Home improvements/decorating

So here is the finished product!! (the before pic is 2 posts below).  I am proud that Sean and I practically made this from scratch..well with a little help from Home Depot and the thrift stores.  Now I have a huge area to work with to be organized with my sewing, couponing, and to begin my scrapbook.  This weekend I will make the seat that will go on the top of the cedar chest that will go in t he window nook.  I coordinated the same trim as on the desk as well as the same fabric that lines the desk will be on the seat.  Also made the cutest bed for Lily.  She loves it.

Had a great week off!!

Well the week started off great with this beautiful bouquet from the most wonderful man in the world.  He sent me flowers on Monday since that is the last day at work before having the week off.  Thank you Sean, they are absolutely gorgeous and seem to be getting more beautiful everyday.  Then Tuesday ran some errands and ended up back at work for about 3 hours finishing up some paperwork.  Then the remainder of the week has been super busy with DIY projects.  I am finished up my desk.  2 thrift store bookcases and MDF.  I spent 2 days on and off putting 3 coats on this desk o nly to see that the insides would just peel off…so plan B was contact paper but it would not go on without bubbles…so Plan C was fabric.  That ended up working.  So now all I have left to do is put on the last bit of molding and I am done.  I will take pics when I am done.  I also picked up a cedar chest and a dresser at the salvation army, that I will redo as well. This week has also involved us using our newest toys.  For our anniversary, Sean and I got bikes.  We haven’t riden too much because we found out the seats suck and our butts were killing us! LOL.  It has been years since I have riden a bike and I guess when you are a kid you didn’t care how comfortable the seat was…well we do now.  Tomorrow, we are going to Chattanooga for our anniversary weekend.  Lily is away at Judy and Jim’s house (hopefully she is not driving them nuts) for the weekend.  She has had an eventful week with Mommy home.  I think we bonded!
