Random Ramblings…
So back on the wagon again…been going pretty Paleo strong for about the past 6 weeks. I have had my moments with a cheat, but everything for the most part was in moderation. Everytime I cheat, I pay for it anyway so I have decided to
challenge myself to 100% strict until Thanksgiving. There is a little under 21 days until Thanksgiving so I am going to try Mark Sisson’s 21 day transformation..he practices “primal” where I will be doing more “paleo”. I have the book and really like it. It really didn’t tell me anything I didn’t know but forces you to look at what you are doing, why you are doing it and what you feel (complications, frustrations, etc with the process). My plan is not to stop and gorge on Thanksgiving dinner but really evaluate that time how my body has been feeling and what is more important….A sister schubert’s roll that I have had a million times or a stomach ache. The minimal cheating that I have done over these past weeks has caused more hand pain in the mornings, tummy trouble and increased rosacea symptoms. Most importantly I plan on really getting back into working out. 31 is around the corner and I have tried to be in the best shape of my life on every birthday since I was 21 and failed everytime. Now is the time to do it and stick to it. I will again as I have said in the past try to use this blog to chronicle my journey (the good and the bad)! Sean is helping me with an update to the blog that will hopefully be coming soon and hopefully the more I use it the better it will be.
I have always loved to cook, but changing my lifestyle to unprocessed foods has really brought that out even more. I have something special in the works for tomorrow so stay tuned for pics. Hopefully it will turn out good. It is a pre-thanksgiving meal..paleo style! It looks yummy so far so I can’t wait.

Lily has a Boyfriend…
So today, Lily got to meet Sarge..the neighbor’s father’s boxer. Sarge is only in town for one week and wow, did he fall in love with Lily! But of course, who wouldn’t? He whined for her and then finally they let him off his lead. They played and played for like 30 minutes. Lily just let him run all around her. It was hilarious. Maybe they will play again before he leaves!

BOXERSTOCK
Had a great time at Boxerstock in Marietta. We got to see Lucy, Tygra, Judy and Jim and listen to some great music. Suprisingly Lily was anti-social and did not like the 20 other dogs off leash running and growling at her. To much sniffing going on for her liking! She had a good time and of course was the most beautiful there.

Pale Comfort Foods

So this is my new favorite book. Thanks to my wonderful husband. I have tried tons of the recipes already and even went to the authors’ cooking class a couple of weeks ago. I really enjoyed the class especially to hear their tips and tricks. The food was really good too. At home I have tried the chili, fried chicken, cauli rice, sweet potato hash, shrimp and grits, the bread, biscuits and gravy, banana bread, asparagus, and the morning glory muffins (my fav). I put some pics below and will continue to update the gallery “Paleo Eats”. I think this is the end of my fourth week of clean paleo eating. I haven’t had any gluten to my knowledge, no artificial sweetner, no soda, and no packaged junk. Just yummy veggies, meat, fruit, and nuts. I have had some sugar in a dressing I got from the Swheat Market (organic) and 2 pizza toppings so some dairy. Overall I feel pretty good. I have relost 7 lbs that I had gained back and ready to get off the last 10. I worked out today at Ladies Fitness for their launch for the first time in months so I can imagine how sore I will be. It felt really good to get back into it though, so I think this was the motivation I needed. Just need to find..I mean MAKE time for it. Work is busy and I just don’t take time. Happy eating…paleo style.
